Ret. Lt. Col. Wendy Rogers was one of the first female pilots in the U.S. Air Force, and served for twenty-years. In 2020 she was elected to the Arizona Senate, and has gained recognition as the most conservative legislator in the state and one of the most enthusiastic supporters of President Donald Trump.
For four consecutive years she has championed the Defend the Guard Act to passage in the State Senate, the first two with unanimous Republican support.
S.B. 1047 has its first committee hearing in the Arizona Senate on February 16, 2026.
The bill also carries the support of Congressman Paul Gosar (R-AZ) and popular conservative radio host Garret Lewis.
